Wrapping Up Drawing Class

I am so proud of all of our my drawing class artists!  Every single student noticeably improved and I couldn't be more pleased.  We have learned to draw spheres, overlapping spheres, cubes, stacking tables, cylinders, bowls, flags, roses, 3-dimensional buildings, and koala bears.  We learned elements of texture, line, variation, guide dots, cast shadows, forshortened squares and circles, shape, shading and smudging.

We also discussed that the only difference between an amateur and an artists is...practice.

The book that we've used in class is "You Can Draw in 30 Days" by Mark Kistler.  He is a fabulous teacher and has a great sense of humor.  Our family has enjoyed his books immensely.

It was such a pleasure to mentor this class.  Each student brought home their art sketch pad yesterday.  If you haven't had a chance to view your child's artwork, be sure to ask them!
